Women's Outdoor Track and Field Named ECC Academic Team of Excellence

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's outdoor track & field team was named an East Coast Conference Academic Team of Excellence Award recipient for the 2024-25 academic year. The honor is presented to the team with the highest cumulative grade point average in their respective sport. The women's track & field program is the second consecutive Daemen team to earn the award as the men's cross country team collected the honor during the 2023-24 campaign.

This past season, the Wildcats posted a cumulative GPA of 3.57 for the 2024-25 academic year. Individually, the squad also featured five athletes who collected CSC Academic All-District honors as Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y.) Samantha Kabel (Alexander, N.Y.), Christa Oates (Tonawanda, N.Y.), Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) and Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) all earned the accolade.

Additionally, six teams saw each member of their squad earn a 3.25 GPA or higher in the Daemen women's cross country team, District of Columbia women's tennis team, D'Youville women's bowling and women's tennis teams, Mercy women's volleyball team, and Molloy women's cross country team.
