AMHERST, N.Y. -- Daemen University Vice President of Athletics Traci Murphy is pleased to announce the hiring of Daniel Antkowiak as the new Head Women's Bowling Coach. Antkowiak becomes the fourth head coach in the history of the Daemen University women's bowling program and takes over after former head coach Carrie Racsumberger stepped down after seven seasons after the end of the 2024-25 season.

Antkowiak returns to Daemen University after nearly a decade, having previously served as the women's bowling assistant coach during the 2016-17 season. During his prior tenure, he played a crucial role in recruiting five players to the team. Since then, he has remained active in the bowling community, serving as an NCAA women's bowling official since 2018. With over two decades of experience as a bowler, Antkowiak has also competed in the Greater Buffalo USBC for over ten years, winning five tournament titles and achieving multiple top-five finishes.

"I am excited to return to Daemen, to grow on the previous experience and grow the program to the next level," Antkowiak said of his return to Main Street. "Having the ability to possibly take a team that I have observed from a distance as being an official at many Daemen events in the past, it's exciting to now begin to lead this group and work to achieve the goal of the university's first East Coast Conference Championship and NCAA Championships berth in Women's Bowling."

The Daemen women's bowling team, which posted a 38-41 record in the 2024-25 season, returns six players from last year including junior Brenna Forsha (Tonawanda, N.Y.) who was named to the 2025 ECC Championships All-Tournament Team.

Antkowiak brings his extensive experience and familiarity with the program to his new role, which he is excited to assume. A Western New York native, Antkowiak lives in West Seneca, N.Y. with his wife, Kelley, twin daughters, Lily and Melody, baby boy to be born in November 2025 and dog, Stella. A graduate of the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Antkowiak is currently employed as the Accounting/Grants Manager at Community Health Center of Buffalo.
