Men's Soccer Downed By Saint Michael's

COLCHESTER, Vt. — Daemen fell 7-0 to Saint Michael's on Wednesday at Duffy Field after the Purple Knights scored five second-half goals. 
 
Saint Michael's took an early lead in the first half against Daemen, with Jack Andrews scoring in the 12th minute, assisted by Marshall Butler and Lucas Schwalbe-Goodwin. 
 
The Purple Knights continued to apply pressure, leading to a second goal by Iago Lopez in the 44th minute, assisted by Mikel Penin and Rodrigo Salamanca Lopez. 
 
Daemen's goalkeeper, Dylan Delaney (Lockport, N.Y.) faced numerous shots, making several key saves to keep the score 2-0 at the half's conclusion. Delaney recorded five saves in the match, facing 26 shots over 90 minutes.
 
The Wildcats had two corner kicks in the first half that they could not convert. 
Saint Michael's dominated the second half against Daemen, scoring five goals to secure the victory. The home team quickly extended the lead when Xolo Miralles found the back of the net in the 49th minute, followed by Jack Andrews' goal in the 52nd minute, assisted by Evan Richardson and Lucas Schwalbe-Goodwin. 
 
Chris Qirjazi added to the tally with a goal in the 72nd minute, assisted by Ryan Noci. Preston Blay and Joey Manley each scored in the 80th and 83rd minutes, respectively, sealing the win. 
 
Despite the Wildcats' attempts, including a shot by Thomas Wikan ( Inderøy, Norway) that was saved, they were unable to score. Keegan Herrmann (Wilson, N.Y.) also placed a shot on goal, attempting to break through the opposition's defense. Stefan Jankovic (Reyjavik, Iceland) took one shot during the game that landed off target. 
 
The Wildcats return home for their first game at Royal Park Friday, hosting St. Anselm at 5:30 p.m.
