Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- The Daemen University men's tennis team opened the 2025 fall season by competing at the Bloomsburg Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Mitch Pollack (Winnipeg, Man.), junior
Lucas Garcia (Bogota, Columbia) and sophomore
Vondin Henderson (Tonawanda, N.Y.) all earned singles victories over the two-day tournament. The newcomer doubles duo of Pollack and Fitzgerald picked up a doubles win as well.
DAY 1
- The Wildcats dropped all four doubles matches on Friday. Henderson and freshman Joseph LaBrake (Lancaster, N.Y.) fell 1-6 to Bloomsburg's Landon Wall and Nicolas Mustea. Henderson (0-6, 3-6) fell to Wall in the ensuing singles matchup, while LaBrake (0-4, 0-4) lost to Mustea.
- Pollack and Fitzgerald lost their doubles pairing, 0-6, to Lehigh's Victor Imanish and Shiv Sastry. Imanish picked up the 6-0, 6-0 win over Pollack in the singles match, and Fitzgerald fell to Sastry 0-4, 2-4.
- In the third doubles match up of the day, the Daemen pairing of senior Alex Lumanog (Albuquerque, N.M.) and junior Lasse Mergens (Bochum, Germany) fell 3-6 to Bloomsburg's Denis Dementev and Iu Casamitjana. Lumanog was then defeated by Dementev (0-6, 2-6) and Mergens fell to Casamitjana (4-5(3), 2-4) in singles play.
- Garcia and Chitanand teamed up in the fourth Daemen doubles pair and fell to Bloomsburg's Jack Seaborn and Sergio Dilan, 7-5, in the closest Daemen doubles match of the day. Garcia would drop his singles match (5-7, 1-6) to Seaborn, but Chitanand picked up the first Daemen win of the day in a 4-1, 5-3 victory over Dilan to earn a point for the Wildcats.
DAY 2
- Henderson and LaBrake fell to West Liberty's Robert Lindsey and Chance Brozstek (2-6) in doubles action. Henderson earned his first singles victory of the tournament with a 4-1, 4-2 win over Lindsey. LaBrake fell to Brozstek (2-4, 2-4).
- Lumanog and Mergens were defeated by Lehigh's Ofer Hacohen and Henry Stoller in doubles play (1-6) and in both singles matches (Lumanog lost 1-4, 5-4 (3), 5-10 to Hacohen, Mergens fell to Stoller 1-4, 1-4).
- Pollack and Fitzgerald earned the first doubles win for the Wildcats with a 6-1 victory over West Liberty's Chris Burns and Aidan Lucas, and both followed up with singles victories. Pollack topped Burns 4-1, 4-1, and Fitzgerald earned a 4-2, 5-3 win over Lucas.
- The pair continued on in the draw with a 6-2 doubles win over West Liberty's Lindsey and Brozstek. Pollack topped Lindsey, 4-0, 4-0, in singles play, and Fitzgerald beat Brozstek, 4-1, 4-1 in their final match of the tournament.
The men will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 21 in an 11 AM home match against Niagara.
