COLCHESTER, VT -- In their first ever match up on the court, the Daemen University men's tennis team dropped a non-league match at Saint Michael's College on Saturday evening, 1-6. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 3-8 on the year and 1-5 in the spring portion of the season. 

The Purple Knights won the first point of the match by winning all three doubles pairings. Daemen's sole point on the day came in a three set fight by Alex Lumanog (Albuquerque, N.M.) in No. 2 singles, with the senior taking Saint Michael's Viktor Boban the distance, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7. It marked the fourth singles win for Lumanog this season, and it was the first time this season that he has played second singles. Saint Michael's won the other five singles pairings to take the match, 1-6.

Daemen is off this upcoming weekend but returns to action on Saturday, March 14 as they travel down to the Southern Tier to play at St. Bonaventure in a 10 AM match.
