The Wildcats' offense was led by a dominant performance across all four quarters, with the team netting 18 goals on 34 shots. The home team capitalized on three woman-up goals and maintained control with 14 draw controls. Gannon managed eight goals, including one woman-up goal, but was unable to match Daemen's robust scoring efforts. IMPACT PLAYERS Maria Salvo (Clarence, N.Y.) led the offensive charge for Daemen with an impressive six goals, including converting three free-position shots. Ella Bouley (Auburn, N.Y.) contributed significantly with two goals on five shots, including the game-winner, and added an assist. Shannen Calandra (Rome, N.Y.) showcased her playmaking ability, tallying one goal and four assists. Sadie Schlesselman (Lancaster, N.Y.) also added two goals, one of which came on a woman-up. Defensively, Bouley, Avery Castner (Penn Yan, N.Y.), and Jenna Havert (Newark, N.Y.) all caused one turnover and collected two ground balls. Mia Caryl (Marcellus, N.Y.) made nine saves in her first career start to earn the win. INSIDE THE BOX SCORE After an early goal by Gannon's Charlie Hunter, Daemen responded with a free-position goal by Salvo, leveling the score at 1-1. Salvo continued her impact by scoring again at the 2:01 mark, putting the Wildcats ahead. Daemen's defense held strong, with Caryl making key saves and the team successfully clearing the ball multiple times. The quarter ended with the Wildcats leading 2-1. Daemen started the second quarter with a strong offensive push. Mikayla Myer (Geneva, N.Y.) scored early, assisted by Bouley, at 13:36, setting the tone for the quarter. The team capitalized on a woman-up situation with Salvo scoring from a free position at 11:57, followed by Schlesselman finding the net, assisted by Myer, extending the lead further. Gannon responded with a goal by Isabella Veltre, but the Wildcats quickly regained momentum. Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) scored with assistance from Calandra, and Castner also found the net, again set up by Calandra. The quarter ended with Daemen leading 7-3, having added five goals to its tally. The third quarter began with a shift in momentum as Hunter scored for Gannon just seconds into play. The Wildcats responded swiftly with Salvo netting an equalizer on a woman-up opportunity, followed quickly by Bouley scoring to regain the lead. Despite Gannon's efforts to close the gap with goals from Veltre and Morgan Allardi, the Wildcats maintained their composure. Salvo struck again for Daemen, extending the lead, before Miranto added another. Schlesselman then found the net for another Wildcat goal. The quarter concluded with Daemen holding a 12-7 lead. Daemen started the fourth quarter with Schlesselman securing the initial draw control, leading to a quick goal by Calandra, assisted by Camryn Day (Hamburg, N.Y.). Bouley then extended the lead with a successful free position shot, making it two consecutive scores. Adison Pollutro (West Seneca, N.Y.) added to the lead with a goal assisted by Calandra. Ava Smith (Hamburg, N.Y.) capitalized on a free position attempt, and Day netted another goal, widening the margin. Salvo, assisted by Calandra, capped off Daemen's scoring spree. GAME NOTES Bouley surpassed 100 career goals in the contest. Salvo's six goals and six points marked career-bests. Calandra's four helpers marked a season-best. Caryl earned her first career win between the pipes. Daemen scored a season-high five free-position goals. The Wildcats went 11-for-13 on clears. Daemen won 14 draw controls, led by Bouley's six. The Wildcats are now 2-2 against Gannon.
