The Wildcats' offense was impressive, scoring nine goals in the first quarter alone, and maintaining consistent pressure throughout the game. The Firebirds managed to score just once in three separate quarters, struggling against Daemen's strong defensive efforts. Adison Pollutro (West Seneca, N.Y.) led the Wildcats' offense with five goals, converting six of her seven shots on goal. Marianna Szamoskozi (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) contributed four goals, with all five of her shots finding the target. Sadie Schlesselman (Lancaster, N.Y.) tallied a game-winning goal and added three assists. Abbey Kamas (Horseheads, N.Y.) delivered a perfect shooting performance, scoring three goals on three shots. Goalies Mia Caryl (Marcellus, N.Y.) and Molly Evans (Fulton, N.Y.) each played 30 minutes, with Caryl making two saves and Evans stopping three shots. ECC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL Schlesselman and Ella Bouley (Auburn, N.Y.) were named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. Bouley tallied eight points with five goals and three assists in two games last week. She also collected 12 draw controls and scooped up five ground balls. The midfielder led the Wildcats and tallied seven points with four goals and three assists. Bouley also had four draw controls and posted a season-high five ground balls against the Penmen. She scored one goal in a win over UDC on Saturday and had eight draw controls. Schlesselman logged six points with three goals and three assists in two games last week. The freshman scored two goals at Southern New Hampshire on Monday. She then posted four points with one goal and a season-high three assists in Daemen's win over UDC. Schlesselman also logged a caused turnover in the victory. MAKING HISTORY Daemen's 25 goals against UDC last Saturday marked a program record for the most in a game by the team. Bouley has hit several milestones this season. She passed 200 career draw controls against UDC last Saturday and scored her 100th career goal against Gannon on March 11. The senior also broke the program record for goals (8) and points (10) in a game during the win over Tiffin. Avery Castner (Penn Yan, N.Y.) also surpassed 100 career points against Tiffin, becoming the second player in program history to achieve the feat, along with Bouley. SCORING IN BUNCHES The Wildcats have scored 137 goals, averaging 15.22 per game. Among the top performances are the Wildcats' program record 25 goals against UDC, 21 against Tiffin, 18 against Gannon, 16 against Lake Erie, and 14 against Walsh. Leading the way is Maria Salvo (Clarence, N.Y.) with 25. The junior posted a six-goal performance in the win over Gannon. Bouley and Castner have 21 goals each. Bouley scored a combined five goals, and Castner netted a combined four goals in games against SNHU and UDC last week. Salvo ranks fourth in the ECC in goals per game (2.78) while Bouley and Castner are tied for sixth (2.33). Salvo is also fifth in points per game (3.67), while Shannen Calandra (Rome, N.Y.) is tied for ninth (3.22). IN THE RANKINGS Daemen currently leads the ECC in goals per game (15.22), assists per game (8.44), and points per game (23.67). The Wildcats also sit fourth in total ground balls (133). SCOUTING MOLLOY (3-6, 0-1 ECC) The Lions are coming off back-to-back losses, dropping an 18-6 decision at #19 Mercy in their ECC opener on Wednesday and falling 12-6 to Southern Connecticut State in a non-conference tilt last Saturday. Cameron Thompson leads the team in points (16) with 11 goals and a team-best 10 assists. Sam Cossaro has tallied a team-best 16 goals and has 20 points with four assists. Ava Benasutti has recorded 19 points (15G, 4A). Brooke Grossjung leads Molloy in caused turnovers (16) and ground balls (21). Goalies Samantha Huer and Nicole Schaumloffel have split time. Huer has posted a 2-2 recor d, a 9.32 goals-against average, and a .452 save percentage. Schaumloffel has logged a 1-4 record, a 13.53 goals-against average, and a .337 save percentage. SERIES HISTORY The Wildcats are 0-3 against the Lions. Daemen fell 15-1 at home last season.  UP NEXT The Wildcats are back home Thursday, hosting Dominican (NY) at 3 p.m. for their final non-conference game of the season.
