Men's Tennis Bested By Queens

AMHERST, N.Y. -- The Daemen University men's tennis team dropped an East Coast Conference match to Queens, 0-7, at the Miller Tennis Center in Williamsville, N.Y. on Saturday night. The Wildcats fall to 3-12 overall and 0-3 in ECC play with the loss. 

Facing the Knights for the second time in 8 days, the Wildcats dropped all three doubles pairings to give Queens the first point of the match. Daemen junior Lucas Garcia (Bogota, Columbia) and freshman Mitch Pollack (Winnipeg, Man.) paired up at second doubles and battled the Queens team of Tim Andersson and Samuel Linck but fell 3-6 to the Knights. Daemen's No. 1 and No. 3 doubles teams fell with scores of 1-6 in both matches. 

Queens won all six singles rounds to win the match, 0-7. Garcia played at top singles for the first time this season and put up a 1-6, 4-6 score against Queens' Lucas Foix Santos. junior Lasse Mergens (Bochum, Germany) and senior Rohan Chitanand (Den Haag, Netherlands) played at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, and both finished with scores of 1-6, 1-6. Freshman Pablo Viera (Naples, Fla.) finished 0-6, 0-6 at No. 4 singles. Pollack posted a score of 0-6, 3-6 against Pablo Serrano at fifth singles, and Jordan Hamdan (Johnson City, N.Y.) finished 3-6, 0-6 at No. 6 singles. 

The Wildcats will travel to Washington, D.C. to play the University of the District of Columbia on Friday, April 3 at 1 PM.
