The Wildcats' scoring was consistent, with two goals in the first quarter and a strong finish of four goals in the final quarter. The Lions held a brief lead in the second quarter with five goals, but Daemen's defense solidified in the fourth, limiting Molloy to just one goal and sealing the win. IMPACT PLAYERS Avery Castner (Penn Yan, N.Y.) led the offense with four points by four goals. Marianna Szamoskozi (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) contributed three points with two goals and an assist. Maria Salvo (Clarence, N.Y.) scored once, netting the game winner, and tallied two assists. Camryn Day (Hamburg, N.Y.) added three points with a goal and two assists. Defensively, Ella Bouley (Auburn, N.Y.) and Sam Branner (Ontario, N.Y.) posted three caused turnovers and scooped up three ground balls each. Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) and Ava Brown (Port Crane, N.Y.) each posted two CTs. Freshman goalie Mia Caryl (Marcellus, N.Y.) made eight saves to earn her second career win. INSIDE THE BOX SCORE The Wildcats scored the first goal at 14:14 from Bouley. Castner extended the advantage with a goal assisted by Salvo at 13:42. Despite a turnover, Daemen maintained pressure and defended effectively, with Caryl making a crucial save on a free-position shot. Molloy managed to find the back of the net at 0:39 as the quarter concluded with the Wildcats leading 2–1. In the second, after the Lions scored the first two goals of the quarter, Day's successful free position goal at 9:09 tied it at 3-3. Adison Pollutro (West Seneca, N.Y.) then capitalized on a player-up situation with a goal, assisted by Sadie Schlesselman (Lancaster, N.Y.), at 7:55. Despite Molloy's attempts to maintain their edge with goals from Ryleigh Zamora and Avery Adamski, Castner's goal, assisted by Mikayla Myer (Geneva, N.Y.), at 5:32 put Daemen ahead, 5-4. The quarter concluded with Miranto scoring in the final seconds to draw level at 6-6. The Wildcats opened the third quarter responding to a Lions' tally with a goal from Szamoskozi, assisted by Salvo, at 10:06. Molloy regained the lead through Benasutti's second goal, but Castner equalized with a goal at 1:43, assisted by Schlesselman, putting the score at 8-8. The Lions scored again with just seven seconds remaining, taking a 9-8 lead. Castner scored with an assist from Szamoskozi at 13:28 of the fourth, capitalizing on a ground ball recovery. Szamoskozi then re-gave Daemen the lead with a player-up goal at 11:00 following a free-position attempt, making it 10-9. Despite Molloy responding with a goal at 7:55, the Wildcats maintained control as Salvo scored, assisted by Day, with 7:38 remaining. Schlesselman further increased the advantage to 12-10 with a goal at 4:51, assisted again by Day. Daemen's defense held strong to secure the win, including a late save from Caryl and a caused turnover by Myer. GAME NOTES Castner logged her fifth three-plus goal game this season. Salvo posted four-plus points for the fourth straight game. Szamoskozi registered three-plus points for the second straight contest. Schlesselman logged her sixth straight multi-point game. The Wildcats posted a season-high 14 caused turnovers and scooped up 22 ground balls in the contest. Daemen outshot Molloy 33-24, including a 23-14 advantage in shots on goal. The Wildcats went 15-for 18 on clears. Daemen won 15 draw controls to Molloy's nine, led by Bouley's seven. The win marked the Wildcats' first in program history over Molloy.
