Wildcats Post 12 Top-10 Finishes at UB Alumni Invitational

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Daemen women's track and field team made the quick trip north to compete at the UB Alumni Invitational on Friday.

Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) continued her strong season with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000m and a fifth-place result in the 1500m. The Wildcats' 4x100m relay team of Maggie Middaugh, Mia Wright (Liverpool, N.Y.), Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.), and Skylar Savage (Attica, N.Y.) broke the program record and placed sixth.  Brianne Repolio (Haddon Heights, N.J.) broke the program record and placed fourth in the javelin, and Kristen Oliver (Massena, N.Y.) took fourth in the hammer throw. 

 HIGHLIGHTS 
  • Starting in the throw pit, Repolio recorded a 29.11m throw in the javelin, breaking the program record and finishing fourth. 
  • Oliver came in fourth in the hammer throw with a 46.02m toss, good for third in the program record book. 
  • Freshman Alana Cawthon placed seventh in the shot put with a launch of 11.21m, ranking fourth in program history. Cawthon also placed eighth in the discus, logging a 28.19m throw.
  • D'Naesha Quicksey (Buffalo, N.Y.) placed 10th in the discus with a 27.97m launch.
  • In the jump pit, Savage broke the program record and finished 11th in the long jump, leaping 5.27m.
  • In the 5,000m, Daemen posted two top 10 finishes with Oberholzer coming in fourth with a personal-best time of 18:16.03. Kylie Piekarski (Lancaster, N.Y.) placed ninth with a PR of 19:28.42.
  • Oberholzer crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of 4:54.66 in the 1,500m to place fifth. 
  • In the 4x100m, Middaugh, Wright, Schultz, and Savage took sixth place with a program-record time of 49.86 seconds. 
  • Wright took eighth in the 400m, finishing in 59.97 seconds.
  • Schultz placed ninth in the 100m hurdles, posting a time of 16.12 seconds 
  • Lia Brasacchio (Victor, N.Y.) took ninth in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 1:06.96, ranking fourth in program history.

The Wildcats compete in their final regular-season meet next week, heading to St. John Fisher on Saturday for the Cardinal Classic.
