AMHERST, N.Y. -- Men's volleyball redshirt freshman Aidan White (Fairport, N.Y.) was named the 2025-26 Daemen University Male Newcomer of the Year. The announcement was made at the 2026 Daemen Athletics Night of Honors, an annual event held on campus to recognize the achievements of the university's intercollegiate teams and student-athletes.

In his redshirt freshman campaign, White made quite the impact on the court, starting 18 of Daemen's 23 total matches this season and ranking third on the team offensively with 157 kills to average 2.04 kills per set. Coming on strong in the latter part of the season, White hit in the double-digits in seven matches, including posting a season-high 16 kills twice, first against Manhattan on Feb. 27 and and again vs. Maryland Eastern Shore on March 28. In the final match of the season, the redshirt freshman outside nearly secured his first career double-double, totaling a season-high 10 digs and finishing with nine kills. White finished the year contributing 27 total blocks, 65 digs, and 13 aces over 77 sets on the year.

Additional nominees for the 2025-26 Male Newcomer of the Year included Simon Evans (men's cross country & track) and Nakyhi Harris (men's basketball).

White is the fourth men's volleyball player to earn Male Newcomer of the Year honors since the award's inception following the 2016-17 season.
