Cardone and Wright Find the Back of the Net Against #17 Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. — Mia Wright (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Cholé Cardone each scored for the Wildcats, but #17 Bentley put up six goals to earn a 6-2 win over Daemen on Sunday afternoon. Rylee Kumer (Ambridge, Pa.) made 11 saves in goal for the Wildcats. 

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Wright put the Wildcats ahead 1-0 in the 10th minute when she intercepted a pass and took it in to score. 
  • The Falcons responded with two quick goals, scoring at 14:46 and converting a penalty kick at 15:48 to take a 2-1 lead.
  • Bentley added another goal four minutes into the second half, making it 3-1.
  • Goals in the 65th and 68th minutes expanded the Falcons' lead to four at 5-1.
  • Cardone got one back for the Wildcats in the 71st minute, dribbling into the box and firing a shot past the keeper, putting the score at 5-2
  • The Falcons topped off the scoring in the 83rd minute, making it 6-2. 
  • Kumer made five saves in the first half, including two early ones in the 12th and 13th minutes. 
  • Aliyah Hien (Kenmore, Washington) had a chance in the 47th minute when she fired a shot that got saved. 
  • Kumer continued to make stops in the second half, including three in a two-minute span from the 60th to the 62nd minute. 
GAME NOTES
  • Wright's goal was the first of her career.
  • Cardone's goal was the fourth of her career. 
  • Kumer finished with 11 saves, one of her career-best of 12 that she set last game. 
  • Bentley now leads the series between the teams 2-1.
