Wildcats Blanked by Molloy in ECC Opener

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. — Daemen (1-5-1, 0-1 ECC) dropped a 3-0 decision to Molloy (3-4-1, 1-0 ECC) in its ECC opener Saturday at the RVC Sports Complex. Molloy scored all three goals in the first half, while the Wildcats kept the home team off the scoreboard over the final 45 minutes. The Wildcats put all six of their shots on goal.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Lions got on the board in the 20th minute, then scored again three minutes later to make it 2-0.
  • Molloy added its third tally in the 33rd minute.
  • The Wildcats had an early chance from Bridey McKenzie (Amherst, N.Y.), whose shot was saved in the fourth minute.
  • Ava Thompson (East Amherst, N.Y.) had a shot denied by the keeper in the 16th minute.
  • In the 25th minute, Aliyah Hien (Kenmore, Wash.) had her attempt saved.
  • Ten minutes later, Taylor Fiegel (Lockport, N.Y.) had a shot stifled by the goalie. 
  • The Wildcats had four corners in the first half, but they couldn't capitalize.
  • Daemen kept Molloy scoreless in the second half, with Rylee Kumer (Ambridge, Pa.) making three saves.
  • Hien's shot was saved in the 85th minute, and the Wildcats earned another corner three minutes later.
GAME NOTES
  • Hien led the Wildcats with two shots, putting both on goal.
  • Kumer finished with eight saves in 90 minutes.
  • Daemen logged six shots, putting all six on frame.
  • The Wildcats had seven corners, including four in the first half and three in the second.
