Biography

2024-25 (SOPHOMORE)
Raced in two of the team’s seven meets in 2024… finished as one of Daemen’s top seven runners in both meets…. In both of his meets this season, he was the fourth Wildcat to cross the finish line. At the Doug Watts Open, he finished 26th of 61 runners with a time of 21.40.8 and at the Daemen Alumni Invitational finished 19th out of 66 runners with a time of 28.49.2.

2023-24 (FRESHMAN)
Raced in five of Daemen's seven meets this season... set a PR in four straight races... made his collegiate debut at the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational where he finished 28th out of 79 runners with a 6K PR time of 22:30.4... placed 11th of 19 with an 8K PR of 29:44.2 at the Daemen Alumni Invitational... shaved 38 seconds off his previous best 8K time at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational where he placed 101st out of 175 with a PR time of 29:06.0... finished 68th of 151 with a PR time of 28:11.8 at the Highlander Invitational... placed 94th ouf of 142 at the Canisius Alumni Classic with a time of 28:57.9. 

BEFORE DAEMEN
A nine-time letter-winner for the Alden Bulldogs under coaches Ed Carl, Nancy Bennett and Emilio Mancino... also played hockey in high school... helped the Bulldogs to Section VI Cross Country Championships in 2020 and 2023... Scholar Athlete.

PERSONAL
Born Matthew Donald Strasser on Nov. 29, 2004 in Buffalo, N.Y. ... son of Donald and Kimberly Strasser... has a twin, Jordan Strasser... hobbies include hockey and mountain biking... favorite holiday is Christmas... favorite vacation spot is Scottsdale, Arizona... chose to attend Daemen because "it was a good fit academically and also allowed me to continue my running career."... majoring in Accounting.
