Cedarville Tops Wildcats For 3rd Time This Season

AMHERST, N.Y. - With second place in the American Mideast Conference standings hanging in the balance, the Daemen Wildcats picked an inopportune time to lay an egg in a key conference matchup as they dropped a 75-59 decision to visiting Cedarville University on Saturday afternoon.  The Yellow Jackets pick up their third win of the season vs. Daemen to improve to 12-10 overall and 7-4 in conference.  The Wildcats drop to 12-11, 7-5.

Matt Harner led the way for Cedarville with 16 points including 9-of-12 shooting from the free throw line.  Brian Hecker was next with 15 while big man Brian Grant, who has been enjoying an increased role of late for the Yellow Jackets, scored 14 points, exceeding his season average by 10.

Khorri Silcott paced the Wildcats with 12 points and 13 rebounds.  Casey Sheehan and Dominic Mazzocchi split 22 points and Mujeeb Oridami added 10.

The Wildcats managed just 32% shooting (20-for-62) for game, including a dreadful 1-for-17 (6%) showing from behind the arc.

Next up for Daemen is a home tilt against #18 Malone this coming Thursday.  The Wildcats knocked off Malone (15-9, 8-4) last Saturday on the road.
