THE MATCHUPS: The Daemen College men's soccer team heads to Michigan for two United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) games this weekend...the Wildcats will face Rochester College Saturday at 4 p.m...Daemen concludes the trip at Cleary University Sunday at 2 p.m.

THE COACHES: Mark Spacone is in his third season as head coach at Daemen...he brings a wealth of knowledge to the position with 16 prior years of experience at nearly every level of the game, including collegiate, high school, club and Olympic Development...Kevin Garner is in his first season as head coach at Rochester College...Tom Greeley is in his first season as head coach at Cleary University.

THE SERIES vs. ROCHESTER: Saturday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between Daemen and Rochester.

THE SERIES vs. CLEARY: Sunday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between Daemen and Cleary.

NCAA DIVISION II: Daemen is in Candidacy Year Two of the NCAA Division II membership process...Daemen has been accepted as a member of the East Coast Conference (ECC) and will play full regular-season conference schedules beginning this fall...the College will also maintain its affiliation with the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for postseason opportunities, as it will not be eligible for the ECC or NCAA postseason during Candidacy Year Two.

THE WILDCATS (3-8-0; 0-5-0 ECC): Daemen returns 15 players and five starters from last year's team that posted a 4-9-0 record...the Wildcats were picked 11th in the ECC preseason poll...the Wildcats opened the 2013 season with a 3-2 (2 OT) win at conference rival Roberts Wesleyan on Sept. 5 and went 2-2 over the first four games...Daemen is 1-6-0 over its last seven games and is coming off losses to New York Tech (7-0) and LIU Post (9-1) last weekend...LIU Post is ranked No. 1 nationally in the latest NSCAA Division II poll...senior Kyle Clifford (West Seneca, N.Y./St. Francis) and freshman Alex Reid (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) have paced the offense...Clifford scored twice in the season-opening win over Roberts Wesleyan and netted both goals in a 2-1 OT win over Buffalo State...he has totaled a team-high 13 points (6 gls, 1 ast)...Reid (5 gls, 1 ast) scored the OT "golden goal" in the season-opening win over Roberts Wesleyan and assisted on the OT game-winner against Buffalo State...he also netted both goals in a 2-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown on Sept. 29...senior defender Jared Contreras (Arcadia, Calf./Arcadia) is the only player to start all 11 games and has started 55 of a possible 56 games during his career...junior Matt Daddario (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home) has started 10 games between the pipes...he made two saves against Pitt-Johnstown en route to his first career shutout...he recorded a season-high 11 saves in a 3-0 loss to nationally-ranked Brockport...he owns a 3.50 GAA with one shutout.

THE WARRIORS (9-2-0): Rochester is a NAIA Independent and a member of the USCAA...the Warriors are ranked fourth in the USCAA national poll released Oct. 4...the Warriors split their first two games before running off six-straight wins...RC had its six-game winning streaked snapped following a 6-2 loss to NCAA Division III member John Carroll University on Sept. 28...the Warriors rebounded with a 13-0 win over Kuyper College last weekend and improved to 9-2-0 following a 7-3 win over Cleary on Wednesday...juniors Joey Beshara (9 gls, 4 asts) and Daniel Seargeant (7 gls, 2 asts) and rookies Justin Kane (5 gls) and Matt Gross (2 gls, 3 asts) have paced the offense...Beshara scored four goals in the win over Kuyper and had a goal and three assists against Cleary...Seargeant also had a "hat trick" in the win over Kuyper...freshman Alex Brown (1.69 GAA, 2 SO) has started seven games in net...he made a season-high 11 saves in a 3-2 win over Lawrence Tech.

THE COUGARS (1-10-0): Cleary is a member of the USCAA...2013 is the first year Cleary is sponsoring men's soccer as a varsity sport...the Cougars opened their inaugural season with three-straight losses, before recording the first victory in program history following a 3-2 win over Grace Bible College on Sept. 4...Cleary has lost its last seven games and is coming off losses to Indiana Institute of Technology (9-1) last weekend and Rochester (7-3) this past Wednesday...freshman Hermes Toska scored two goals in the win over Grace Bible and also tallied two markers in the loss to Rochester earlier this week...freshman Santiago Almada scored the first goal in program history.

DID YOU KNOW?: Daemen has two players with at least five goals for just the second time in the past seven seasons...Alex Reid ranks seventh among all ECC players and first among ECC freshmen in goals scored (5)...Kyle Clifford ranks third among the ECC leaders in goals (6) and scored his 25th career goal during the loss to Queens on Sept. 21.

WHAT'S NEXT: The Wildcats return to ECC play next weekend when they host Dowling College  (Oct. 18, 1 p.m.) and the University of Bridgeport (Oct. 20, 1:30 p.m.)...both games take place at Dimp Wagner Stadium in Amherst.
