Men's Tennis Claims 1st Win Of Season

OSWEGO, N.Y.- The Daemen College men's tennis team secured its first victory of the season today, defeating Oswego State University 6-3 at the Romney Tennis Courts.

Daemen took four out of six in singles competition, led by sophomore Gregory Lowe (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) in the No. 1 singles slot and freshman John LeMar (North Tonawanda, N.Y. / North Tonawanda) in the No. 2 singles spot.  Lowe downed Oswego's Ryan Korn 6-0, 6-0 while LeMar defeated Ben Weiss 6-2, 6-1.

Freshman Adam Kerr (Penfield, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) was also a double-point winner for Daemen.  Kerr defeated Mike Owens 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles after teaming with LeMar for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.

The Wildcats also got a win from sophomore Zach Kinnaird (Amherst, N.Y. / Sweet Home) in No. 4 singles as he defeated Max McCune 6-2, 6-3.

Daemen will close out their weekend tomorrow as they travel to face off against the Alfred University Saxons for a 1PM match.
