CLINTON, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's track and field team competed in the Hamilton Invitational held today at the Margaret Bundy Scott Fieldhouse on the campus of Hamilton College.
Highlighting the Wildcats' efforts today was freshman long distance runner
Jordan Weir (Cato, N.Y./Cato-Meridian), who placed first in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:03.59. Her time was 21 seconds faster than runner up Renee Deruchia of St. John Fisher College.
Freshman
Morgan Stefanik (Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted Post West) placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.58), while sophomore
Jolene Barrett (Avon, N.Y./Avon) finished sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.70. Freshman
Amanda Rusek (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois Central) turned in solid efforts in both the 200 and 400-meter dash. She placed fifth in both events, posting a time of 28.89 in the 200 and a time of 1:08.18 in the 400. Junior Noelle Thompson (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) also recorded a top-five finish for the Wildcats, as she placed fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:42.25.
In field events, junior
Ashley Pinette (Rowley, Mass./Westfield State) and freshman
Mariah Burkhard (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) both placed in the top-five in the shot put. Pinette placed second with a toss of 10.31 meters, while Burkhard was fifth (9.59). Paige Wilson of St. John Fisher took first place (10.85 meters).
