ERIE, Pa.- The Daemen College men's tennis team returned for its ninth away match of the year, but the season-long struggles continued as they suffered an 8-1 rout to the Mercyhurst Lakers. The loss dropped the Wildcats' record on the season to 3-9 while the Lakers improved to 4-9 with the victory.
Junior Mike Obermeier (Depew, N.Y./Depew) and Sophomore Alex White (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) picked up the lone win for Daemen as they prevailed in a 8-6 victory over Kyle Hosier and Mario Sandoval in the No. 3 doubles match. Their teammates weren't as successful, as Mercyhurst swept the rest of the doubles matches and even took all six singles matches to secure the win.
The Wildcats will be back in action on April 13th, as they travel to Alfred University to take on the Saxons at 12 p.m.
