WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's tennis team dropped an 7-2 decision to the New York Institute of Technology in East Coast Conference (ECC) action today. It was the first-ever ECC match hosted by Daemen. With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 1-3 (1-2 ECC) on the season while the Bears improved to 2-0 (1-0 ECC).
Freshman Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) was the only Wildcat to get a mark in the win column, however, came up short in an 6-1 decision in the No. 1 singles match. Daemen also picked up wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles by default.
The matches were relocated to the Miller Tennis Center indoor courts due to the weather. The match had been originally scheduled to be played outdoors at Park Country Club.
The Wildcats will host East Coast Conference opponent Long Island University- Post tomorrow (Sept.14th) in Williamsville, NY at the Park Country Club courts.
