Goodemote and Bjerkan Named CSC Academic All-District 5/12/2026 12:00:00 PM By: CONTACT: Connor Griffin, Assistant Director of Athletics Communications | cgriffin@daemen.edu AMHERST, N.Y. — Two Daemen women's tennis players garnered Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. Lily Goodemote (Sauquoit, N.Y.) and Bella Bjerkan (Elmhurst, Ill.) were recognized for their achievements on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes needed to be in the lineup for 75% of matches that include team scores. They also must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility. Goodemote has a 3.70 GPA as a double major in Natural Science/Physician Assistant Studies. She posted four singles wins during the season. She earned victories in matches against Fredonia, Oswego, St. Thomas Aquinas, and the University of the District of Columbia. The sophomore also logged three singles wins, defeating pairs from Fredonia, St. Thomas Aquinas, and D'Youville. Bjerkan has maintained a 3.61 GPA as a criminal justice major. She logged four singles wins this season, defeating opponents from Slippery Rock, West Liberty, Ithaca, and Oswego. The sophomore also earned four wins in doubles action. Bjerkan defeated pairs from Nazareth, Fredonia, Oswego, and St. Lawrence. Daemen University features the premier NCAA Division II athletics program in the Buffalo-Niagara region, sponsoring 17 intercollegiate teams.
