Box Score WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- The Daemen University women's tennis team closed out the 2025-26 season falling to the University of the District of Columbia, 6-1, on Saturday night. Playing in their final game of the season, the Wildcats finish the year 3-14 overall. It was the final match for a pair of Wildcat seniors as Daemen honored seniors
Carly Armitage (Rochester, N.Y.) and
Dania Mehani (Amherst, N.Y.) before the start of the match.
The Firebirds won the first point of the game after winning two of the three doubles pairings. Freshman
Marley Conover (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) and sophomore Bella Bjerken (Elmhurst, Ill.) dropped top doubles to UDC, 2-6. Armitage and sophomore
Ashley Bonilla (Flushing, N.Y.) fell 2-6 in No. 2 doubles. UDC did not field a team for third doubles so the Wildcats won by default.Â
UDC won five of the six singles matches tonight. Conover fell (1-6, 0-6) at No. 1 singles. At second singles, Armitage fell 0-6, 1-6 in her final match in a Daemen uniform. Bjerkan battled to a 2-6, 1-6 finish at third singles. At No. 4 singles, Bonilla lost 1-6, 0-6. UDC took fifth singles 1-6, 0-6 over Mehani in her final match as a Wildcat. UDC didn't field a player for sixth singles and therefore lost by default.
