Daemen Falls in Close Match to STAC 9/7/2013 4:28:00 PM SPARKILL, NY- The Daemen College women's tennis team competed hard for the second consecutive day but fell short as they dropped a 5-4 match to St. Thomas Aquinas College today. "I felt the girls improved from yesterday's win despite the loss," said head coach Stephen Beatty. "Unfortunately, we just couldn't come up with the win." Both Scanlan and Fiorita followed that up with a win in their singles matches. Scanlan bested Signore in a close match 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 while Fiorita downed Zugibe 6-2, 6-3. The Wildcats also got a win at #2 singles as Shaylah Iverson defeated Aquinas' Sam Vinci 6-0, 6-1.
