BROCKPORT, N.Y. - For the second straight meet the combination of Ashley Pinette (Rowley, Mass./Westfield State University), Toria Williams (Buffalo, N.Y./Medaille College) and Brittany Denton (Oakfield, N.Y./Oakfield-Alabama) paced the Daemen College women's track and field team, this time at the Golden Eagle Multi and Invitational hosted by The College At Brockport today.

Pinette earned a fifth place finish in the shot put (11.03 meters) and added a 13th place showing in the 20-pound weight throw (11.24 meters).  Williams was right there with her, finishing in sixth in the shot put after her toss of 10.97 meters.  Denton added a sixth place effort in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.96.

The 800-meter run was a strong event for coach Jessica Gorski's squad.  Denton was joined by Noelle Thompson (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) and Lindsay Wood (Newfield, N.Y./Newfield) who each garnered top-15 finishes.  Thompson's time of 2:38.72 was good for 11th place while Wood finished in 13th with a time of 2:41.31.

Long distance runner Jordan Weir (Cato, N.Y./Cato-Meridian) was good as well, finishing in 12th place in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:32.66.

The Wildcats return to Brockport next Saturday, Feb. 8 for the Golden Eagle Invite.
