HUNTINGTON, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's track and field team competed today at the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships today, finishing seventh in the team standings.  Five Wildcat athletes earned all-conference recognition with their performances today.

Freshman Brittany Denton (Oakfield, N.Y./Oakfield-Alabama) continued her fine rookie season with a third-place showing in the 800-meter run (2:29.41) to earn second team all-ECC honors.  Classmates Katherine Robinson (Pasadena, Calif./Pasadena) and Ashley Cheff (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Falls) joined Denton with second team All-ECC performances in the 1000-meter and 1-mile runs, respectively.  Robinson ran her 1000-meter race in 3:22.12 while Cheff trekked the mile in 5:47.21, both finishing in fourth place.

Sophomore Jordan Weir (Cato, N.Y./Cato-Meridian) finished fourth in the 3000-meter run to grab second team all-conference honors as well, finishing the race in 10:56.93.  Weir was a second team all-conference honoree in the same event last year.

Rounding out Daemen's all-conference performances was Toria Williams (Buffalo, N.Y./Medaille College) who launched the shot put 12.21 meters as she continued her solid freshman campaign.  Her toss was good for a third-place finish and, thus, second team all-ECC status.

Several athletes finished just outside of the all-conference realm.  Brooke Nolan (Depew, N.Y./Depew) and Noelle Thompson (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 800-meter run with times of 2:31.86 and 2:32.80.  Alexandra Pace (Williamsville, N.Y./Amherst) was a sixth-place finisher in the 1000-meter run (3:26.79) while thrower Ashley Pinette (Rowley, Mass./Westfield State University) finished seventh in the shot put (10.46 meters).

With the indoor season completed, the Wildcats are idle until the outdoor season begins with the Highlander Invitational hosted by Houghton College on March 29.
