FULL RESULTS

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Throwers Toria Williams (Buffalo, N.Y./Medaille College), Ashley Pinette (Rowley, Mass./Westfield State University) and Mariah Burkhard (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) led the way for the Daemen College women's track and field team today, as each earned top-20 finishes in the shot put at the Golden Eagle Invite hosted by The College At Brockport.

Williams' long toss of 11.91 meters, a season-best, was good for runner-up honors in the event - her second runner-up performance in the shot put already this season.  Pinette earned 12th place honors with a toss of 10.25 meters and Burkhard was next with a toss of 9.68 meters which put her in 19th.  Daemen joined the host Golden Eagles and the University of Rochester as the only teams to place three throwers in the top 20 of the event.  Pinette added a 21st-place finish in the 20-pound weight throw (11.23 meters).

Freshman Brittany Denton (Oakfield, N.Y./Oakfield-Alabama) continued her solid rookie campaign as she finished 10th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:29.41 while classmate Ashley Krol (Depew, N.Y./Depew) finished in 18th and 19th in the long (4.76 meters) and triple (9.63 meters) jumps, respectively.

Fellow freshman Leah May (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) added a top-10 finish to the Daemen cause with her seventh-place performance in the 500-meter dash (1:28.84), finishing just under eight seconds off the pace.

Long distance runner Jordan Weir (Cato, N.Y./Cato-Meridian) ran her 1-mile race in 5:34.84 to finish in 15th place.  Freshman Ashley Cheff (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Falls) came in five seconds later (5:39.86) to grab 20th.

The Wildcats will get one more tune-up for the upcoming East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships (Sat., Feb. 22) when they travel to Central New York for next weekend's Hamilton College Invitational (Sat., Feb. 15).
