WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's tennis team won the First Annual Daemen/Medaille Invitational Tournament this weekend as they defeated both Alfred University (5-4) and Medaille College (9-0).

"We played two great matches this weekend," head coach Stephen Beatty said. "Friday's match was super competitive and was the best match we played all year."

Daemen's Aman Shamaa (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) was able to push out the final match during Friday's competition and claim the win for the Wildcats after besting Alfred's Betsy Clark 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Saturday's match was a team effort as every person won a point for the team.

The Wildcats close out their second season of existence with an 8-15 record overall and 1-7 in the East Coast Conference.
