CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to East Coast Conference (ECC) opponent, the conference's 2014 preseason poll favorite, New York Institute of Technology . With the loss, Daemen falls to 0-1 (0-1 ECC) on the season while the Bears picked up their first win of the season (1-0 overall, 1-0 ECC).

"We competed well today against one of the best teams in the nation and the top ECC school," said head coach Stephen Beatty. "I am happy with how the girls had a great attitude today and played as well as we could.  We will look to improve more in the next few matches."

The Wildcats will look to bounce back quickly as they face another ECC competitor, Long Island University Post, tomorrow (Sept. 6) in Brookville, N.Y. at 12 p.m.
