GENESEO EARLY SEASON INVITATIONAL - FULL RESULTS
GENESEO, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's track and field team began its outdoor season today after finishing its indoor season at the ECC Championships in February. The Wildcats competed at State University of New York at Geneseo Early Season Invitational held at the Geneseo Track.
The Wildcats were led today by freshman Nazjahe Boswell (Rochester, N.Y.) who broke the team's 100-meter record. Boswell's time of 12.39 seconds was good for a second place finish out of 40 runners, and it eclipsed the previous team-record time of 12.69 seconds set by Tiffany Cycon during the 2016 outdoor season. Boswell also went on the finish seventh out of 58 racers in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.47 seconds.Â
Sam Carro (Canandaigua, N.Y.) achieved a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.29 seconds. Carro qualified for the event finals after running her preliminary heat in 16.23 seconds, which ranked third out of the 21 total competitors entered.
Savannah Warner (Elma, N.Y.) opened the outdoor season with a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter dash, finishing with a time of 2:26:52. Warner was a second-team All-ECC performer in the same event during the indoor season.Â
The field events saw Hannah Miller (Seneca Falls, N.Y.) place eighth in the discus with a 34.19 meter throw. Taylor Haude (Rochester, N.Y.) earned a pair of top-15 finishes, placing ninth in the pole vaults (2.91 meters) and 15th in the javelin (22.03 meters). Kress was the Wildcats' top performer in the pole vault as she placed eighth by clearing 3.06 meters. Both Haude and Kress were first-team All-ECC picks in the pole vault during the indoor season. Kress added a seventh-place finish on the track today as well, running the 400-meter hurdles in 1:11.67.
The Wildcats will take a ride to Houghton College for the Allegheny County Classic on Tuesday. April 2 beginning at 3 p.m.
