AMHERST, N.Y. - Taylor Haude (Rochester, N.Y.) of the Daemen College women's track and field team has been named the East Coast Conference Field Athlete of the Week for competitions held April 8-14. The announcement came via the league's weekly sport report released this afternoon from conference headquarters in West Babylon, N.Y.

Haude, a 5-foot-7 junior pole-vaulter, claimed her first first-place finish of the outdoor season, and did so in her hometown as she cleared 2.75 meters to win the pole vault competition at yesterday's University of Rochester Alumni Invitational at Fauver Stadium.

Sunday's competition was Haude's final tune-up opportunity for the East Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships which are slated for this Saturday, April 20 at Farmingdale State College. Haude will be looking to repeat at the ECC's pole vault champion; she's also claimed that title twice during her indoor track and field career.

Haude is just the second Daemen athlete to garner ECC Field Athlete of the Week honors during the outdoor track and field season, and the first since former teammate Carrie Akin did so for April 23-29, 2018.
