Here's three things to know about upcoming matches for the Daemen men's tennis team...

1. The Wildcats will utilize the college's spring break from classes to travel south for a training and competitions in Florida. Head coach Kerry McDermott's team, which has had two local matches postponed because of weather in recent weeks, will compete against three Sunshine State Conference affiliates - Florida Southern, Embry-Riddle and Palm Beach Atlantic. It marks the third Florida trip in the eight-year history of the program, and the first since 2018. The Wildcats have posted a 3-1 record thus far during the spring season, and are coming off consecutive wins over Alfred (7-0) and Oswego State (8-1).

2. The Wildcats will be challenging themselves against some top-rated competition on the trip. Both Florida Southern (No. 18) and Embry-Riddle (No. 25) are ranked in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II men's tennis national poll. Overall, the Sunshine State Conference features five teams ranked among the top 25 in the country, and a sixth that's receiving votes. The depth of the conference can be seen in their preseason poll where Florida Southern was picked seventh (out of eight), Embry-Riddle was picked fifth and unranked Palm Beach Atlantic was picked sixth.

3. Senior Fabian Wilde continues to close in on Daemen's program record for combined singles and doubles victories. The German native recently moved past former teammate Ricardo Ruiz Martinez for second in program history by recording his 67th and 68th career wins (Feb. 22 vs. Oswego State). Wilde stands 14 wins shy of Mark Veitengruber's program record of 82.
