Here's three things to know about upcoming matches for the Daemen women's tennis team...

1. The Wildcats will utilize the college's spring break from classes to travel south for a training and competitions in Florida. Daemen will compete against three Sunshine State Conference affiliates - Embry-Riddle, Nova Souteastern and Palm Beach Atlantic - in as many days. It marks the second Florida trip in the eight-year history of the team, and the first since 2015. The Wildcats are heading to a warm weather destination for the second-straight year however after playing matches in California in 2019. The Wildcats, who closed the fall season with their first-ever win over rival Roberts Wesleyan, have been idle since their spring season opener, a 6-1 loss at Mercyhurst on Feb. 16.

2. Daemen three opponents have combined to go 19-6 in dual matches this season. Embry-Riddle could bring a five-match winning streak in Monday's contest if they can knock off Northwood at home on Saturday. The toughest test will likely come Tuesday when the Wildcats face a Nova Southeastern team that is ranked fifth in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II women's tennis national poll. The Sharks were runners-up in the Sunshine State Conference last season, finishing the year with a 22-5 overall record after advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Palm Beach Atlantic picked up a few early wins, but has dropped four of their last five. They'll face Wayne State, Southern New Hampshire and Hillsdale all in the days prior to their meeting with the Wildcats.

3. The Sunshine State Conference is a traditional powerhouse in Division II tennis. The SSC features five teams that are currently ranked 18th or higher in the national poll, including No. 1 Barry which has provided Nova Southeastern's only setback of the season thus far.
