Box Score Niagara University- The Wildcats made the short journey to Niagara University Sunday morning for a dual match against the Purple Eagles. Daemen was defeated by their Division 1 opponents 7-0.
Daemens record fell to 0-3 on the season while Niagara, a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, improved to 3-0. Today's dual match concludes the fall season for the Wildcats with play resuming in the spring.
Doubles Report
Ben Davis (Rochester, N.Y.) and Sam Greco (Amherst, N.Y.) paired up on the first doubles court but were defeated 6-3. On the second court Jose Williamson (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Luis De Vuyst (Antwerp, Belgium) paired up but lost their match, sealing the doubles point for Niagara. Philip Vance (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Zachary Laplante (Ottawa, ON) paired up for the final doubles match of the day but were also defeated 6-3.
Singles Report
Davis started the singles matches off strong for the Wildcats with a very competitive opening match but ultimately lost 7-5, 6-4. Niagara then collected the next four points on the singles courts before the final match of the dual. Greco played a tough match and was defeated 6-1, 7-5 on the last singles court.
Additional Notes
Two exhibition matches also took place, one doubles match and one singles. Jayven Williamson (Minneapolis, Minn) and Ross Belen (Marlboro N.Y.) paired up for the doubles exhibition. Williamson also played in the singles exhibition.
