The tournament, which got underway February 26 at Bowlero Mineola on Long Island, will come to an end nearly three weeks after the final round was abruptly postponed following a non-COVID-19 medical emergency within Roberts Wesleyan's team personnel. Daemen earned the tournament's No. 2 seed after accumulating 4,263 total pins during a round robin slate that included four Baker total pinfall matches and a blind round (no opponent, total pins counted towards total). The Wildcats then advanced by defeating third-seeded Caldwell in a semifinal megamatch that includes a best-of-three series (team traditional, Baker total pinfall, Baker best-of-seven). Daemen swept the Cougars in the first two matches, scoring an 838-790 victory in the traditional team match, followed by a 933-854 win in a Baker total pinfall format. Roberts Wesleyan is the tournament's No. 4 seed. After knocking down 4,182 pins during the opening round robin schedule, the Redhawks took down top-seeded Chestnut Hill in the semifinals. Daemen owns a 20-13 advantage in the all-time series with RWC, including a 2-1 mark in three meetings this season. The winning team next week will earn an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Women's Bowling National Championship. The 16-team tournament is scheduled for April 7-10 in North Kansas City, Mo. When the tournament resumes, no spectators will be permitted in attendance due to COVID-19, but the action will be broadcast on the ECC Network - the official digital streaming network of the East Coast Conference and its member institutions. Professional bowling veteran Brad Angelo will serve as the broadcast commentator. Daemen will tune up for their conference championship opportunity by meeting Mount St. Mary's in a trio of dual matches this Saturday, March 13.
