FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. BACK IN ACTION
Daemen will play its first dual match in more than two weeks when regional foe Le Moyne comes to town Wednesday. The Wildcats will be looking for their first-ever win in the all-time series with the Dolphins which dates back to the program's inaugural season (2012-13). Wednesday's matchup will be the first between the two teams since February of 2019.

2. HOME COOKING
Wednesday's match marks the fourth at home for the Wildcats this season. Daemen is 4-2 in their last six home matches dating back to last season, including three victories in matches played at the Williamsville South High School courts. The Wildcats last took the courts there on Sept. 14 when they picked up a 5-2 win over Allegheny - the program's 17th win in their last 19 matches against NCAA Division III opponents.

3. CLIMBING THE LADDER
While competing at the ITA East Region Championships, graduate student Christina Stasiuk reached a pair of milestones. Her opening round victory in the doubles draw was the 72nd win of her career (combined singles/doubles), moving her into a tie with Jessica Robins for third place on the program's all-time wins list. Only Hayle Scanlan (93) and Gretchen Ringler (84) have won more matches in a Wildcat uniform. It also marked the 31st doubles win of her career as she moved into sole possession of the program's all-time doubles wins list. Stasiuk was competing at the ITA regional tournament for the fourth time in her career.

4. RUBIO TO THE ROUND OF 16
Sophomore Frida Rubio was Daemen's standout player at the ITA East Region Championships, held Sept. 17-20 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Rubio entered the singles draw as the No. 6 seed and picked up a pair of victories to advance to the round of 16. She took down Yana Semerly of Assumption with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the opening round, and followed up with a 7-5, 6-4 defeat of Adelphi's Carolina Chaves. Rubio is a team-best 4-2 in singles play this season, and has totaled 11 singles victories in her career to date.

5. ON THE HORIZON
The Wildcats will head to Long Island for a pair of matches this Sunday, Oct. 3. They'll meet Molloy in their first East Coast Conference match of the season at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by a neutral site, non-conference contest vs. Post at 3 p.m.

LE MOYNE DOLPHINS SCOUTING REPORT
Le Moyne is a member of the Northeast-10 Conference, and the Dolphins are led by seventh-year head coach Jeff Lonczak. The 2003 Le Moyne graduate has led the program to a 75-38 record to date, and has them off to a 5-0 start this season. The Dolphins have won eight of their last 10 matches dating back to last season when they advanced to the semifinal round of the NE-10 Conference Championships. Six players return from Le Moyne's 2020-21 team, including five seniors and a graduate student. Seniors Brooke Fernandez and Birdem Oz have each posted 5-0 singles records to pace the Dolphins so far this season. As a team, Le Moyne is 27-2 in singles matches and the Dolphins have yet to lose a doubles match (14-0). They are coming off a 5-2 win at Southern New Hampshire - their fourth conference win of the season after being picked fourth in the NE-10 preseason coaches' poll.
