BACK IN ACTION
Daemen plays its first home game since Sept. 10 when the Wildcats host crosstown rival D'Youville in an East Coast Conference match Wednesday (Oct. 12) afternoon at Karrer Field.

LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Natalia Piotrowski scored two goals to lead regionally ranked Molloy to a 4-0 victory over Daemen this past Saturday at Rockville Centre, N.Y. Molloy, which is ranked fifth in the East Region by the United Soccer Coaches, improved to 9-3-2 overall and 5-1-0 in the ECC.
The Lions scored all four of their goals in the second half. Piotrowski opened the scoring nine minutes into the second half when she scored off a corner kick by junior Sarah Tappeto. Tappeto and Piotrowski teamed up again in the 76th minute when Piotrowski headed home a cross by Tappeto. It marked the 15th assist of the year for Tappeto, who leads all Division II players in assists so far this season. The hosts converted two penalty shots in the final 10 minutes to close out the scoring. Molloy out shot the Wildcats 11-1 in the second half and the hosts finished with a 19-5 advantage in shots overall (10-2 in shots on goal). Freshman goalkeeper Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) made her second start of the year for Daemen and registered a season-high six saves.

RETURNING VETERANS
Daemen returns 20 players from its 2021 team, including six who collected All-ECC honors last year. Experience is abundant, as the team features two graduate students, seven seniors and five juniors. The team's top five scorers from last year all return to the pitch this fall. Senior Tatyjana Scalisi (Williamsville, N.Y.) and sophomore Alyssa Diaz (Rochester, N.Y.) accounted for 13 of the team's 34 goals last year and both earned first
team All-ECC honors. Scalisi also earned all-region honors, while Diaz became the first player in program history to be named the ECC Rookie of the Year. All-conference defenders Julia Eichel (Grand Island, N.Y.) and Baylin Tighe (Tonawanda, N.Y.) return after heading up a backline that surrendered just 20 goals in 16 games last year. Senior goalkeeper Tori DeLappi (Medina, Ohio) is coming off an all-conference junior season in which she averaged five saves a game and posted a 1.27 goals against average. Graduate students Grace Stranahan and Katelyn Sidoti will serve as teams captains for 2022. Scalisi scored her second goal of the year in a 2-2 draw with Assumption last week. DeLappi has started 10 of 12 games in goal. She ranks third among the ECC leaders in total saves (53) and fourth in goals against average (1.85).

ROAD WARRIORS
Daemen closed out a stretch of seven-straight road games this past weekend at Molloy. The Wildcats traveled nearly 2,500 miles by the end of the stretch, with the longest trip being Southern New Hampshire in Manchester N.H. (438 miles) and the shortest trip being Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa. (83 miles).

ON THE HORIZON
Daemen is idle until Oct. 22 when it travels to Rochester, N.Y. to face long-time rival Roberts Wesleyan in an ECC match.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS
D'Youville is winless in its last six games and is coming off a 2-0 loss to Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Saturday. The Saints posted a league win over Queens (1-0) and have suffered league losses to Mercy (4-0), Roberts Wesleyan (3-0) and Staten Island (2-0). The Saints went 6-9-2 overall (2-9-2 ECC) last year and were picked sixth in the 2022 ECC preseason coaches' poll. Freshman Eleonora Cecchini has totaled a team-high three goals and six points. Graduate student Reaghan Duval has started 10 games in goal and owns a 2.22 goals against average. She made six saves in Saturday's 2-0 loss to IUP.
