BACK IN ACTION
Daemen travels to Syracuse, N.Y. for a non-conference game at Le Moyne on Wednesday (Oct. 12).

LAST TIME OUT

Molloy remained unbeaten in East Coast Conference play following a 2-0 victory over Daemen this past Saturday. Molloy, which is ranked eighth in the East Region by the United Soccer Coaches, ran its unbeaten streak to seven-straight games and improved to 7-2-5 overall and 5-0-1 in ECC play. Daemen dropped to 4-5-2 overall and 1-3-1 in the ECC. The game remained scoreless until the 32nd minute when junior Ryan Dobson scored for the Lions. Sophomore Gio Fabiano took the initial shot from the left flank, which was saved by Daemen netminder Marcos Lerma Escobar (Zaragoza, Spain). Dobson got his head on the rebound and sent the ball into the upper right corner for this sixth goal of the year. The remainder of the half produced limited scoring scoring chances for both teams and the host Lions took a 1-0 lead into the break. Molloy secured the win when Fabiano scored his team-leading eighth goal of the year with just over 10 minutes to play. Once again Lerma Escobar made the save on an initial shot by senior J.P. Rodriguez, but Fabiano was there to knock home the rebound. The Lions posted a 16-6 advantage in total shots and an 8-1 edge in shots on goal. Lerma Escobar turned away six shots for the Wildcats.

GETTING DEFENSIVE
Daemen enters Wednesday's contest ranked third among ECC schools in fewest goals allowed (16). Daemen has limited eight of its first 11 opponents to one goal or less.

ON THE HORIZON
Daemen returns to conference play Saturday (Oct. 15) when it plays host to crosstown rival D'Youville.

SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS
Le Moyne is a member of the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10). The Dolphins opened the year with back-to-back wins, but are just 1-3-5 over its last nine games. The Dolphins are coming off a 3-2 loss to New Haven on Saturday. Le Moyne went 10-7-0 overall (7-5-0 NE-10) last year and was voted fifth in the 2022 NE-10 preseason coaches' poll. Freshman Stuart Cameron has recorded an assist in each of the last two games and has totaled a team-high three goals and nine points. Graduate student Max Buesch scored twice in a recent 2-2 draw with regionally-ranked Southern Connecticut State and has totaled three goals and seven points. Graduate student Josh Mahr (1.00 GAA) has played every minute in goal thus far and stopped a season-high five shots in a 0-0 draw with nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce last month.
