AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's track and field team placed fourth out of nine teams at the University at Buffalo Spring Opener today. The event took place on the UB campus.
A strong showing in the 3,000 meter run highlighted the afternoon for the Wildcats, as seven Daemen runners placed among the top-20 finishers. Freshman Marcy Colca (Getzville, N.Y.) posted a school-record time and finished sixth in the 3,000 meters, while junior Courtney Merrill (Speedway, Ind.) and graduate student Kassandra Nolet (Fort Erie, Ont.) both posted top-10 finishes. Senior Hannah Thomas (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) also enjoyed a solid day, as she finished second in the 800 meters and 16th in the 3,000 meters.
