AMHERST, N.Y. - Sophomore Alyssa Harrington (Tonawanda, N.Y.) of the Daemen University women's track & field team has been named the East Coast Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for competitions held April 25-May 1. The official announcement of weekly awards was made this afternoon in the ECC's weekly track & field report and it's the third time in the last four weeks that a Daemen athlete has been selected.

Harrington placed third out of 13 entrants in the triple jump at the Rochester Alumni Invitational held this past Saturday. Her performance included a personal-best leap of 10.55 meters, surpassing her previous best of 10.39 meters that she recorded at the UB Invitational earlier this season. Her mark from Saturday's meet ranks as the fifth best in program history for an outdoor meet.

Harrington's effort helped the Wildcats place fifth out of 15 competing teams at the meet. She joins teammates Paige Pavelski (East Aurora, N.Y.) and Alyssa Amirato (East Aurora, N.Y.) as Field Athlete of the Week selections this season.

In addition to Harrington's selection, sophomore Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y.) was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll following her performance in the 1,500 meters Saturday. Bailey placed second out of 57 runners with a personal best time of 4:55.15. Junior Dominic Clementi (Barker, N.Y.) of the Daemen men's track and field team was also named to the Weekly Honor Roll after setting a new program record (4:06.54) in the 1,500 meters.

The Wildcats return to action this Sunday, May 8 at the East Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on the campus of Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester.
