Daemen improved to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in the league, while Molloy dropped to 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the ECC. The Wildcats extended their regular-season conference winning streak to 15 matches with the win. Daemen has swept opponents eight times this season, and the Cats move to 45-1 in sets during ECC regular season play since the beginning of the 2021 season. Daemen opens up ECC play with a 3-0 start for the fifth time in seven seasons (ECC did not field a conference schedule during the 2020 season). IMPACT PLAYERS Senior outside hitter Maggie Burns (Louisville, Ky.) posted her fifth double-double of the year, as she totaled a team-high 14 kills and a team-high 15 digs. She committed just one hitting error and finished with a season-high hitting percentage of .542.) Outside hitter Sam Logan (Eden, N.Y.) finished with nine kills and eight digs for the hosts. Junior Olivia Alessi (East Aurora, N.Y.) added 29 assists, two service aces and nine digs. Junior outside hitter Giselle Giraud (Orlando, Fla.) earned with a season-high .615 hitting percentage, totaling eight kills and no errors on 13 attacks. Senior Mickaley Monahan (Saline, Mich.) equaled her season-high for digs (12) and also registered two service aces. Freshman Kaitlin Jordan led the Lions with eight kills, while fellow rookie Julia Zalta added 12 assists and nine digs. INSIDE THE BOX SCORE The Wildcats out-killed Queens 40-26 and posted a .306 hitting percentage. The first game featured 12 ties and six lead changes. Daemen trailed 23-21 in game one, but the hosts scored five of the next six points to secure the win. The Wildcats held a 7-5 lead in game two and used a 14-1 run to take control. Molloy scored the first three points of game three, before Daemen took control with a 13-2 run. Daemen totaled double-digit aces for the third time this season, and the second straight match. The Wildcats finished with 10 aces against Queens. GAME NOTES This was the 20th meeting between Daemen and Molloy. Daemen has prevailed in seven of the last nine meetings and the Wildcats own a 15-5 advantage in the all-time series. Mollloy's nine points in the second game was the fewest the Wildcats have given up in a game all season. The previous low came in the season-opener against Franklin Pierce on Sept. 4 (10).
