Daemen, which is ranked seventh in the Division II College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) East Region poll, has now won six of its last seven games and improved to 7-3 on the year. It marked the East Coast Conference opener for the host Wildcats. Roberts dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the ECC. IMPACT PLAYERS It marked the fourth time in the past six games that Fasoyiro has scored over 20 points. He connected on 11-of-18 shots and was 5-of-7 from downtown and also totaled seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals. It is the third time in his career that Fasoyiro has netted 30 or more points in a game and the second-straight time he has done it against Roberts Wesleyan. He also scored 30 in Daemen's ECC Tournament win over the Redhawks last march. His career high is 31 points in a win over Staten Island last January. Senior Nick MacDonald (Amherst, N.Y.) played 37 minutes and totaled 15 points and four rebounds, while classmate Andrew Mason (Webster, N.Y.) added 11 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Justin Glover (Buffalo, N.Y.) failed to reach double figures in points for the first time this season and finished with nine points, while graduate student Joey Atkins (Watervliet, N.Y.) chipped in seven points, a team-high nine rebounds, a career-high nine assists and three blocks. Freshman Ryan Heath (Rochester, N.Y.) contributed a season-high eight points and three rebounds in just 13 minutes of action off the bench, while fellow rookie Zach Philipkoski (New Harford, N.Y.) totaled six points and five rebounds in just six minutes. Senior Malik Brooks paced the Redhawks with 22 points. GAME NOTES Daemen has now won eight-straight and 28 of the last 29 meetings between the schools. Daemen has prevailed in the last 15 meetings between the teams at Lumsden Gymnasium and is 29-2 all-time at home against the Redhawks. Daemen owns a 50-12 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to the 1997-98 season. The Wildcats have won their last 11 home games dating back to last season and are 94-18 (.839) at home during Daemen's NCAA Division II era (2015-present). Daemen has limited six of its 10 opponents to less than 70 points and leads the ECC in team defense, allowing just 69.7 points per game. Daemen leads the ECC in field goal percentage (.495) and has shot over 50-percent from the field in five of their last seven games. The Wildcats are 5-0 this season when shooting at least 50-percent from the field. Daemen took an early 13-4 lead following a layup by Glover five minutes into the game, and later opened up a 13-point lead, 26-13, following a jumper by Heath with 8:28 left before halftime. The Daemen lead was still double digits, 29-17, with five minutes left in the half when the Redhawks went on an 11-1 run and cut the lead to two points, 30-28, after Brooks hit a three-pointer with 1:24 left before the break. Daemen would take a 34-30 lead into halftime. The Daemen lead was just three points, 46-43, six minutes into the second half when the Wildcats took control with 11 unanswered points. Fasoyiro hit a big triple during the run and a jumper by Mason with 11:16 left capped the rally and gave the hosts a 57-43 lead. The Wildcats maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way. Daemen shot 57-percent (17-for-30) in the second half and finished 29-for-53 (55%) from the field overall. The Wildcats connected on 7-of-16 three-pointers and made 21-of-27 from the charity stripe. Roberts Wesleyan finished 22-of-60 (37%) from the field overall and made just 7-of-25 from downtown. The Redhawks canned 17-of-22 from the charity stripe.
