Box Score EDINBORO, P.A. -- The Daemen University men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss in nonconference play at Edinboro on Sunday evening in a match played at Westwood Racquet Club. The Wildcats move to 1-4 in the spring, while Edinboro picks up their fifth win of the season.
The Fighting Scots took the first point of the match with a sweep in doubles, as per NCAA Division I/II scoring. Edinboro's Ruben Acuna topped
Luis de Vuyst (Antwerp, Belgium) 6-1, 6-2 in No. 2 singles, then senior
Phillip Vance (Orchard Park, N.Y.) fell to Bruno Sabio 6-1, 6-3 in No. 1 singles to open up the scoring for the Scots. Manav Sreekumar beat
Rohan Chitanand (Den Haag, Netherlands) 6-2, 6-3 in No. 3 singles to win a match.
Jayven Williamson (Minneapolis, Minn.) fell to Masayuki Matsumo 6-0, 6-2 in No. 6 singles.
Adam Pasierb (Lancaster, N.Y.) was upended by Finn Unger in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-4, and senior Zachary La Plante (Ottawa, Ont.) finished with a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Gustav Martins.
