BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Daemen University men's cross country team finished 35
th out of 38 teams at the prestigious Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon. One of the most prestigious cross country meets in the country, the Paul Short Run featured 10 races on Saturday and hosted over 4,000 runners at the meet.
FULL RESULTS
Running in the Men's College Brown division against Division I and Division II teams, the Wildcats finished with 895 team points. Davis & Elkins College, who are ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional poll, was the only team to place three runners in the top 10 and finished first out of 38 scoring teams. Kent State's Baidy Ba won the 8K race with a finishing time of 24:22.8.
Graduate student
Jon Moote (Wilson, N.Y.) paced the Wildcats for the second time this season, finishing with a team-best 26:44.1 to place 132 out of 312 total runners.
Sophomore
Ethan Keating (Wooster, Ohio) placed 163rd with a time of 27:03.7. Junior
Aidan Kincaid (Orchard Park, N.Y.) finished 30 seconds later, crossing the finish line at 27:31.7 to place 191st overall and third on the team.
Graduate student
Steven Blatto (Lancaster, N.Y.) finished fourth on the team at 28:27.6, good for 247th. Junior
Josh Trometer (Lancaster, N.Y.) rounded out the Daemen scoring today, finishing 10 behind Blatto at 257th with a time of 28:48.8.
Graduate student
David Schwinger (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished 269th today with a time of 29:02.4, three seconds before sophomore
CJ Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) who completed his first race of the season today at 29:05.7 to place 270th on the day.
Sophomore
Brad Tobin (Hamburg, N.Y.) and graduate student
Laertes Cushing (Alfred, N.Y.) also were among the Daemen finishers today. Tobin posted a time of 30:55.2, good for 304th with Cushing right behind him at 31:06.1 to place 305th.
The Wildcats are idle next week but return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the annual Canisius Alumni Classic held at Buffalo's Delaware Park.
