Oliver Earns USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-Region Honors

AMHERST, N.Y. – Freshman Kristen Oliver (Massena, N.Y.) of the Daemen University women's track and field team has earned a spot on the 2024 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor All-East Region team. The announcement was made recently on the USTFCCCA website.

The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction.

Oliver earned all-region in the weight throw. She capped her rookie indoor season by placing first out of 23 throwers in the weight throw at the 2024 East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships with a school-record toss of 15.55 meters, eclipsing the previous standard of 15.31 meters she set earlier this year at the Brockport Multi Invitational. It marked her first career first place finish. Oliver improved her mark in the weight throw in each of Daemen's six meets this season, and her toss of 15.55 meters at the ECC Championships was tops in the East region this year. Oliver becomes the second Daemen athlete to win the weight throw at the ECC indoor championships in the past three years. Skye Dorcely won the event in 2022. Oliver becomes the sixth athlete in program history to earns USTFCCCA all-region honors following the indoor season and she also joins Dorcely as the only two athletes in program history to earn USTFCCCA all-region honors in the weight throw.

The Daemen women's track & field team took part in six meets during the 2023-24 indoor season and capped the year with a fifth place finish at the ECC Championships held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, N.Y.
