Daemen Tennis Lauded For Academic Achievement Men's and Women's Tennis Teams Earn ITA All-Academic Team Honors; Nine Individuals Named ITA Scholar-Athletes 7/23/2024 1:25:00 PM AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University men's and women's tennis teams were among those recognized as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced All-Academic Teams for the 2023-24 academic year. In addition, nine Daemen players - six women and three men - were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. ITA All-Academic Team status is given to those that achieve a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher for the entire academic year. The Daemen women's team, which earns All-Academic Team honors for the sixth time, posted a collective 3.46 GPA to be one of 112 teams honored from the NCAA Division II ranks. On the men's side, Daemen is one 78 teams recognized from NCAA Division II after achieving a 3.52 team GPA. The Daemen men collect All-Academic Team honors for the fourth time. The Daemen men recently achieved a 3.64 GPA in the Spring 2024 semester - the second highest among all Daemen teams. The ITA bestows Scholar-Athlete honors upon individuals who achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.
