BACK ON THE ROAD
The Daemen University men's soccer team heads on the road for three straight games, starting at Goldey-Beacom College on Sept. 18 at 4 p.m., before heading downstate to the College of Staten Island on Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m. for their first East Coast Conference game of the season.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Despite posting a 6-2 edge on shots, Daemen drew, 0-0, with Saint Michael's College on Sept. 15. The Wildcats did not allow a single shot from the Purple Knights in the first half while taking four of their own. The result marked the first draw for Daemen since last year, also against Saint Michael's, when the two sides played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 9, 2023, in Colechester, VT.
 
ECC HONOR ROLL
Graduate student Dennis Montero Guerrero (Weingarten, Germany) was tabbed to the East Coast Conference Honor Roll this past week after he scored both goals in Daemen's 2-1 win over Lock Haven on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The outing marked the first multi-goal game of his collegiate career for the Weingarten, Germany, native. Montero Guerrero is the third Wildcat to be named to the honor roll this season, joining Emmanuel Perez (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Arturo Bustamante (South Gate, Calif.).
 
THE MAN BETWEEN THE STICKS
Bustamante currently leads the ECC in total saves with 19 and ranks second in save percentage at .826 through four games played. The South Gate, Calif., native made a career-high 10 saves against Walsh on Sept. 7, beating his previous record of eight which was set on Sept. 13, 2023 against Gannon.

SCOUTING GOLDEY-BEACOM (1-3)
The Lightning defeated Pitt-Johnstown University in their last game, 4-1, to earn their first win of the year. Lucas Fernandez and Ogun Unal currently lead the Goldey-Beacom with three points (1G, 1A) each. In net, Pedro Montanes made his first start of the season against Pitt-Johnstown and earned the win, making two saves.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats and Lightning will meet for the first time in program history on Wednesday.

SCORING STATEN ISLAND (1-3)
The Dolphins picked up their first win of the season on Sept. 16, defeating Georgian Court, 3-1, on the road with Justin Karaburan makinh six saves to earn his first win of the year. Miguel Espinosa leads the squad with two goals and four total points through four games. Prior to the season, Staten Island was picked sixth in the ECC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats have won all three prior meetings in the series which dates to the 2021 season. Daemen won the last contest, 3-1, on Sept. 23, 2023.

UP NEXT
Daemen is back in action on Sept. 28 when they head to Sparkill, N.Y., to play St. Thomas Aquinas College. Kick-off is set for 2:30 p.m.
