Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal to reach 100 career points in the contest. HIGHLIGHTS Jenna Northup put Roberts Wesleyan ahead 1-0 with a goal in the third minute, assisted by Alyssa Hackett. Macayla Hansen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) equalized with a penalty kick in the 12th minute, leveling the score at 1-1. Miranto then scored in the 53rd minute with an assist from Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.), putting Daemen ahead 2-1. Marisa Rickard (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) extended the Wildcats' lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 74th minute. Miranto had a couple of opportunities early with two shots getting saved in the opening eight minutes of the match. Wright put a shot just wide of the right post with 29 minutes remaining in the first. Goalkeeper Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) recorded multiple saves, including stops against Mackenzie Hagen and Northup, maintaining the tie. The Wildcats also had two corners in the first half, but they could not capitalize. In the second half, Rickard fired a shot in the 48th minute that was stopped by the keeper. Wright attempted another shot at the 71st minute, but was denied by the goalie. Taylor Fiegel (Lockport, N.Y.) also had two chances to add to the lead with shots in the 82nd and 89th minutes that got saved. Schultz made a crucial save in the 88th minute to maintain Daemen's two-goal advantage. GAME NOTES With her goal, Miranto became the fourth player in program history to reach 100 career points. She now has 42 career goals, ranking third in program history. Hansen scored her second PK goal of the season after also netting one against the Redhawks last week. Rickard's goal was the first of her career. Schultz recorded eight saves in the match, helping secure her sixth win of the season. Miranto also led the team with five total shots, including four on goal, and scored her fifth game-winning goal this season. Wright added an assist and attempted five shots, with two on target. She now has five points in the last two games (2G, 1A). UP NEXT The Wildcats are back home Saturday, hosting Queens for a 12 p.m. contest.
