No. 13 Mercy Snaps Women's Soccer Win Streak

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. — No. 13 Mercy scored an early first-half goal to defeat Daemen 1-0 on Saturday at Mercy Field.

The Wildcats' offensive opportunities were limited in the game, being down their top player, Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.), who is sidelined due to injury. Daemen had another impressive performance from goalkeeper Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.), who stopped 10 shots in the contest.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Mavericks took the lead with a goal by Gracie DiPalo in the fourth minute, pulling ahead 1-0.
  • Daemen worked to respond, with Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.) and Macayla Hansen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) both attempting shots, though neither found the target.
  • Throughout the first half, Daemen's defense, led by Schultz, successfully thwarted several attempts from Mercy, including a notable save on Maleah Tarin's shot.
