The Wildcats host crosstown rival D'Youville in an ECC battle on Friday. Daemen then welcomes Fredonia to Royal Park for a non-conference contest on Sunday morning. LAST TIME OUT The Wildcats fell 5-2 to St. Thomas Aquinas in their last match on Sept. 19. The Wildcats' lone doubles win came from Nadja Emmendorfer (Clarence, N.Y.) and Ashley Bonilla (Flushing, N.Y.) by walkover. Bonilla (No. 5) and Emmendorfer (No. 6) also won singles matches by walkover. PRESEASON POLL The Wildcat women were selected fourth in the 2025-26 ECC Women's Tennis Preseason Poll following a vote of the league's five head coaches. Women's tennis powerhouse Queens College received four first-place votes and topped the poll with 22 points after taking home the 2024 ECC Championship title. St. Thomas Aquinas College collected one first-place vote and finished second in the poll with 19 points. University of the District of Columbia is third with 18 points, while Daemen and D'Youville University sit tied for fourth with eight points apiece. HOT START FOR THE ROOKIE Freshman Marley Conover (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) went 4-2 during the Wildcats' opening weekend at the Bloomsburg Invitational and the match against Nazareth Sept. 12-14. At the Bloomsburg Invite, she went 1-1 in singles, earning a victory in her first match of the tournament, defeating Bloomsburg's Nakonechna 7-5, 3-6 (10-6). Conover also picked up a doubles win over East Stroudsburg's Lea Stefanovik and Arile Kelsick by a 6–3 margin. She played at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles for the Wildcats against Nazareth, earning wins. SCOUTING D'YOUVILLE (1-0, 1-0 ECC) The Saints last competed at the ITA East Regionals (Sept. 26-29), earning multiple singles victories and advancing in doubles play. D'Youville has played one ECC match, defeating St. Thomas Aquinas 6-1 on Sept. 20. SERIES HISTORY Daemen is 12-0 all-time against D'Youville. Last season, the Wildcats earned a 5-2 road win over the Saints. The victory clinched Daemen's spot in the ECC Tournament. SCOUTING FREDONIA (0-9, 0-4 SUNYAC) The Blue Devils are still searching for their first win this fall. Fredonia fell 7-0 in its last match against Nazareth on Tuesday and dropped a 7-0 decision to Cortland last Saturday. SERIES HISTORY Daemen leads the series with a 5-2 record and has won five straight meetings. The teams met last season, when the Wildcats took a 5-2 win on the road. UP NEXT The Wildcats are on the road next week, heading to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, Bloomsburg on Thursday, and Ithaca on Saturday.
