Conover Named ECC Rookie of the Week

AMHERST, N.Y. — Marley Conover (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) was named East Coast Conference women's tennis Rookie of the Week, announced on Monday by the conference.

Conover picked up two wins, helping the Wildcats defeat Oswego State 7-0 on Sunday. She played at the No. 1 doubles slot, where she and partner Stephanie Baier (Boise, Idaho) earned a 6-1 victory over Emily DeLuca and Leah Bell from the Lakers.

During singles action, the freshman continued to dominate, not losing a single set, in a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Avery Borman of Oswego.

Conover has played at the No. 1 singles and doubles slot in every match she has competed in this fall. She now holds a 3-5 singles record and a 3-6 doubles record. This marks the first time in Conover's career that she has earned a weekly award from the ECC.

The Wildcats wrap up their fall season this Sunday, hosting Queens at 6:30 p.m. at the Miller Tennis Center.
